GREGOIRE SECURES $5 MILLION FOR I-495/290 INTERCHANGE IN TRANSPORTATION BOND BILL
(BOSTON) Representative Danielle Gregoire (D-Marlborough) and Representative Kate Hogan (D-Stow) successfully advocated for $5 million in funding for their district through an amendment to the Transportation Bond Bill. This important amendment had the support of the 495/Metrowest Partnership, a public-private advocacy and development organization.
The allocation of this funding will further advance the permitting and design of the reconstruction of the I-290 and I-495 Interchange and bridge replacement in the Town of Hudson and the City of Marlborough. “Over the years, commuters, municipal officials and transportation professionals have deemed the I-495 and I-290 Interchange as a regional priority for infrastructure funding and improved transportation planning,†said Representative Gregoire. “This funding will allow us to address safety concerns, congestion needs and improve overall travel for our commuters.â€
In addition to this funding, the $12 billion bond bill also authorizes $300 million for local road and bridge repairs for fiscal year 2015. Bond discussions now move to the Senate where debate will continue.
